Little Champions Kids Golf
Little Champions Kids Golf was established in Cape Town in 2010 to give young, school children the opportunity to have fun learning the game of golf.
Owner/ coach, David Matthews, has been involved with the game of golf for the past 25 yrs, and appreciates how difficult it is for young children to learn the game using conventional equipment. He has researched global trends and sourced equipment designed specifically for entry level golfers, ranging from young children to adults. This new development in golfing equipment enables children to play easily and safely, whilst learning the etiquette and skills necessary to progress to conventional golf at a later stage. SNAG (Starting New AT Golf) equipment makes golf for newcomers fun and rewarding while developing the correct strokes and swings.
Primarily teaching is done through the medium of school extra-mural activities, but any venue in Cape Town will be considered should there be a group of at least 6 children interested in an area.
Little Champions also caters for those children taking the next step in golf, that is, learning to play on a golf course with proper golf clubs. These second level lessons happen at the beautiful Clovelly Golf Course.
Little Champions is determined to bring golf to everyone. Our Community Outreach Programme allows children from our surrounding informal settlements to participate in our golfing lessons. This is a great opportunity for the children to learn invaluable social interaction skills, to play in a safe environment and, of course, to play the great game of golf.
